Young Bucks

Another posting from a Young Buck trashing the church has been posted on my Facebook page. They are so numerous these days. They, of course, wouldn't call it trashing. They would call it telling the truth. They would call it being a reformer. They would call it being strong and honest and insightful.

The odd thing is, these are really fine people and one of the reasons they are so fine is because they were trained by this church they are finding such delight (but pretend anguish) in trashing.

The church is such an easy thing to trash these days. Every body is doing it. You'd think if you lived in a culture that despised the church that it would give you pause when you find yourself joining that culture. But no bells go off in their heads that they have joined the majority, the antithesis of salt.

They have become like our politicians who continually talk about how Washington ignores problems and manufactures crises etc. Those very politicians ARE Washington. And these Young Bucks ARE the church.

You might want to be careful when you find yourself talking trash about your mother.

I have come late to your writings, but I will certainly come again. "The antithesis of salt?" What an excellent summation! Until I can visit Raleigh again (Sarah Burton is my daughter) you could honor me with a visit to my blog at www.kdsown.blogspot.com

Thanks, Karl. I am honored. And I did check out your blog. I am impressed! Since 2006! But what I like the most is that you write when you are moved, not when the calendar moves.
